When you’re about to bring a new dog into your family it is important to carefully choose which kind of dog breed you’re getting. Different kinds of dogs suit everyone’s varying lifestyle.

For people that have their house on the country side you can easily get a dog that needs a lot of exercise. A lot of larger dogs needs plenty of activation and loves to move a lot. An Australian Shepherd, Labrador or a Pointer might be a good option for you. Also a smaller dog breed who has a lot of energy, like a Jack Russel could be suitable.

If you’re living in the city it is often a good idea to get a somewhat smaller dog, especially if you are going to bring it with you to public places, since it often it easier with a small dog.

The smallest dogs are Chihuahua dogs and Yorkshire Terriers. They are very cute and sweet yet they do have a lot of energy which is something to keep in mind. You will need to spend a lot of time activating your dog. They also tend to have pretty strong territorial and competitive instincts which mean it might not be the best dog when you have young children.

If you enjoy a calmer lifestyle and want to have a dog that has a more stable temper it is smart to get a dog that can fit to this requirement. Some Spitz breeds like the Japanese are very calm and sweet by nature, so is the Great Dane and Labradors. However, those larger dogs do need to get out a bit more than smaller dogs.

It definitely is a wonderful thing to get a dog – both for your body and your mind. Having to take your dog for daily walks is great for the health and you’ll find yourself laughing and playing a lot more which is perfect to have a happy mind.

Even though all dogs are extremely charming as puppies, it is important that you consider what that specific breed will bring to your life. Some people love to spend a lot of time brushing and grooming their dogs while others prefer to have a dog with very little maintenance.
